My Top 5: Gossip Girl Spots
Hey New Yorkers Gossip Girl here and I have the biggest news ever. The hit show gossip girl has hooked millions of fans over the years since it aired on television. Having been filmed in New York, there are a lot of iconic spots in the city for fans to visit, here are my top 5!
Empire Hotel
In season 3 of the hit show, Chuck Bass decided once he couldn’t buy a bar in the hotel that why not just buy the hotel itself. What hotel might you ask? Oh yeah! The Empire. Located on the upper west side at 44 W 63st, this is probably my favorite spot from the show. Not only can you stay at this awesome hotel but on weekends you can attend a gossip girl themed brunch called the gossip girl experience. It’s definitely a must for fans of the show, and 1 day I will definitely stay here myself. And if you can’t do brunch, don’t worry, they still let you buy the gossip girl drink at the rooftop bar!
2. Lotte New York Palace Hotel
In the first season of the show when Serena comes back from boarding school, she and her mom are living at the Palace Hotel while their home is being renovated again. Located on the upper east side at 455 Madison Ave, this spot isn’t far from my number 3 pick. This spot is full of iconic scenes from the show and I can even give you a tip to find them all, but if you want it you gotta book your trip with me! Click here to get started.
3. Grand Central Station
The iconic opening scene of the show shows Serena riding a train into Grand Central. The spot also was used on other occasions for Jenny when she left to Hudson, and is the home of the infamous Campell Apartment. That is where the Shepards got married and divorced in case you needed some intel. And in case you need more knowledge, Serena and Nate first hooked up on the bar at the wedding when he cheated on Blair, and Serena and Dan hooked up here when she got him to cheat on Blair.
4. Bethesda Fountain & Terrace
This spot is shown on a few occasions in the show. Two of which I can think of are when Blair and Serena call a truce at end of episode 3 and when Chuck and Blair get married in the show’s finale. It’s a beautiful spot you can find in Central Park. You might also be able to find entertainment!
5. The Met
And finally of course is Queen B’s favorite spot to sit above everyone else. Home to several scenes in the show, this isn’t just a spot to sit on the steps, it’s also a whole museum. And when I did visit myself I don’t even think I saw half of it because it was huge! If you plan on visiting, plan to spend a few hours here and eat brunch or breakfast first!
